About
Emily McCort, MD
The first half of my career was spent working with seriously mentally ill patients, the last half exclusively with college students. These very different populations taught me that Psychiatry is a team sport. By the time people visit a psychiatrist, they’ve often tried and exhausted many other options. I’ve found though that when we work together, there are almost always new ways of looking at things, new avenues to try, and progress to be made.
I am happiest working collaboratively, whether partnering with my patients, or working in tandem with patients’ care providers or family members when desired. Working in this way requires trust, collaboration and accessibility. This means I want to hear about what you’ve tried and what you might be interested in trying, and together, we will determine the best course of action. It also means that if you leave me a message, you won’t hear back from my assistant, you’ll hear directly from me. I love what I do and feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with my patients.
